MSPs and multi-division IT teams lose hours every time a new organization starts from a blank slate. The good org already has software rules, Agents layouts, saved filters, Assets fields, device fields, and sensible member roles. The new org has none of that.
Policies package that working setup. Custom roles give Helpdesk, Tech, and Auditor shapes without handing out Owner rights.
What a policy can include
- Software compliance rules
- Agents column defaults and saved filters
- Assets custom field definitions
- Agents device custom field definitions
- Custom role definitions
InventoryOS also ships starters (for example month-end software check layouts) so you are not staring at an empty library on day one.
Apply across orgs without fear
When you apply a policy, you multi-select target organizations and choose add-what’s-missing or replace. A short review story helps you see the impact before you commit. Share invites specific managers on your other orgs; they accept before the policy appears under Shared with you.
Need one library for every org you manage? Save for all my orgs (or check Also available to all my orgs) and apply from anywhere you have access.
Custom roles that match the job
Built-in Owner, Admin, and Viewer cover a lot. Custom roles fill the gaps: capability toggles for day-to-day work while billing, destroy, and ownership stay Owner-only. Invite and Members pickers include your custom roles on single-org invites. You can also copy a role definition from another org you manage.
New orgs start from a policy
The create-organization wizard includes a Start from a policy step after plan, branding, and location. New client environments inherit your baseline instead of waiting for someone to recreate it by hand.
Get started
- Tune one org the way you want every client to look.
- Open Policies from the account menu and save that setup.
- Create Helpdesk or Tech custom roles, then apply the policy to a pilot org.
- See the tour on Products → Policies & Roles or read Policies overview.
